Victor Feldman Quartet Featuring Tom Scott

The late Victor Feldman [1934 – 1987] was such a powerfully swinging pianist that he could figuratively rock-a-room, something he did quite often in the 1970’s at Donte’s Jazz Club in North Hollywood, CA with a quartet that featured saxophonist, Tom Scott.
Perhaps Feldman’s propulsive piano playing had something to do with the fact that he began his musical career as a drummer.
Victor and Tom would eventually go on to participate in what is generally referred to as Jazz-Fusion groups: The Generation Band and The LA Express, respectively.
But click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLWBF97wi6k to view a YouTube and hear Victor and Tom at their straight-ahead best, including some of Tom’s finest Jazz saxophone playing on record.
Joining with them on the I Love Lucy Theme are Chuck Domanico on bass and Johnny Guerin on drums.
Don’t let the languid introduction fool you as this thing really kicks into gear at about the 1:00 minute mark.
